FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling an invasion of a fungal plant pathogen, having a long incubation period of 2 to 8 weeks, using a biological control agent is characterized by that an effective amount of the biological control agent is used on plants, when infection with a fungal pathogen of plants stays at the beginning of the incubation period before visualization of symptoms. Method of controlling invasion of fungal pathogen of plants, having a long incubation period of 2 to 8 weeks, using a biological control agent, which includes the following stages: (a) determining the stage of infection of the plant with the fungal plant pathogen before the onset of visible symptoms using the fungal plant pathogen detection agent, (b) applying an effective amount of the biological control agent to the plant, when the determination at step (a) reveals that the infection with the fungal pathogen of plants stays at the beginning of the incubation period before visualizing the symptoms. Method of controlling invasion of a field occupied by a crop with a fungal plant pathogen having a long incubation period of 2 to 8 weeks, using a biological control agent, which involves the following stages: (a) determining whether a field occupied by a crop is at risk of infection with a fungal plant pathogen by measuring parameters selected from moisture, air temperature and daylight, wherein the information obtained as a result of these measurements is subsequently used to calculate the probability of such development on the field occupied by the crop, (b) if, as a result of determining at step (a), it is found that the field occupied by the crop is at risk, - determining the stage of infection of the field with the fungal plant pathogen before the onset of visible symptoms using the fungal plant pathogen detection means, (c) applying an effective amount of the biological control agent on the field if the determination at step (a) reveals that the infection with the fungal pathogen of plants stays at the beginning of the incubation period before visualizing the symptoms.
EFFECT: inventions make it possible to effectively combat fungal plant pathogen at the earliest stage of the invasion process.
