FIELD: industry of construction materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of biocidal additives to construction mixtures. Disclosed is a method of producing a composition with antifungal properties, involving treatment of anatase form of titanium dioxide with a bismuth-containing solution in suspension with particle size of up to 5 mcm in citric acid solution. Suspension is then evaporated to obtain a gel-like mass and subjected to thermal treatment at 400–750 °C for 1.5–2 hours. Solution of bismuth compounds is obtained by dissolving a basic or medium nitrate, or chloride, or oxide of bismuth in an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, taken in an amount greater than stoichiometric by 90–110%. Molar ratio of components is as follows: n(Bi)/n(Ti)=0.5–1.3; n(citric acid)≥n (Bi)+n(Ti).

EFFECT: disclosed approach enables to obtain a new composition with antifungal action for preventing the formation and growth of mold fungi when using the disclosed composition as an additive to construction mixtures.
