FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of measuring volume of a tank of complex geometric shape and can be used in designing and producing new equipment samples. Method is implemented as follows. Tank weight is measured and fluid is fed therein to maximum filling. Then the weight of the tank filled with liquid is measured, the mass of the filled liquid is calculated, the volume of the filled liquid Vl is calculated. After that, the tank is sealed, gas of known volume Vpc is supplied to it by means of squeezing by known pressure Ppc. Tank is held for thermal stabilization, after which pressure P2 is measured in it. Volume of the unfilled part Vu of the tank is calculated by the formula Vu= Vpc·Ppc/P2, true volume V of tank is calculated by formula V = Vl+ Vu.
EFFECT: providing accuracy of measuring volume of a tank of complex geometrical shape.
