FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of measuring volume of a tank of complex geometrical shape, partially filled with liquid of known volume, and can be used in designing and manufacturing of aircraft. Method of measuring the volume of a tank with a complex geometric shape, partially filled with a liquid of a known volume, involves measuring the volume of the tank by heating it together with a pre-filled liquid of a known volume, further calculation of the tank volume after holding in the heat chamber through change in pressure in its unfilled part and taking into account the volume of the filled liquid, calculated from the readings of the weighing device taking into account its density at a known temperature. Technical result is provided by combination of liquid and gas methods of tank volume measurement with application of heating. Method increases accuracy of measuring the volume of the air cushion, thereby excluding the effect of cavities in the tank not filled with liquid.
EFFECT: providing accuracy of measuring volume of a tank with a complex geometrical shape, partially filled with a liquid of a known volume.
