FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of electrical conductivity of the earth's surface by receiving and processing natural pulsed electromagnetic radiation of very low-frequency or low-frequency (VLF – LF) ranges. Meter includes channels for generating reference and measured signals and an indicator channel. Reference signal generation channel comprises vertical whip antenna and series-connected resonant amplifier, phase shifter at angle of +45°, squaring device, amplitude detector, the output of which is the output of this channel. Measurement signal generation channel comprises two orthogonal horizontal symmetrical whip antennae, resonant amplifiers, squaring devices, ratio device, two phase shifters per angle of +90°, two multipliers, an adder, a subtractor, a scaling amplifier with factor of 1/60λ, the output of which is the output of the channel of the measured signal. Indicator channel consists of a comparator, an additional multiplier, a sampling and storage device, an amplitude-digital converter and a digital indicator.
EFFECT: simpler and more accurate measurement of conductivity of the earth's surface.
