FIELD: radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to radio engineering means of passive location of sources of pulse electromagnetic radiation, it can be used to measure location of thunder storms at distances 300-1500 km in meteorology and civil aviation to increase safety of flying. Electromagnetic signal of thunderstorm (atmospherics) is received by vertical rod electric aerial and by two horizontal magnetic antennas oriented orthogonally. After preliminary integration of magnetic signals all three components of atmospherics are amplified and filtered in wide and identical frequency band. Bearing to source of atmospherics is determined by relation of correlations between deep two-way symmetrically limited electric and each of magnetic signals. Apart from them additional signal corresponding to projection of horizontal magnetic field on direction of propagation of signal is determined, range to atmospherics is found by time interval between coming of electric and additional magnetic signals. Coordinates obtained in this case are displayed on indicator screen. EFFECT: increased accuracy and decreased time of measurement of location of atmospherics. 2 cl, 3 dwg
