FIELD: pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the pharmaceutical industry and can be used for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases associated with impaired mnestic and cognitive functions, as well as for pharmacological therapy of hypoxic/ischemic injuries. Active ingredient of a medicinal agent with cerebroprotective, antiamnestic and antihypoxic activity for the treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases, which is a mixture of polyprenol oligomers, obtained from coniferous wood of general formula:

Method of producing an active component of a medicinal agent with cerebroprotective, antihypoxic and antiamnestic activity for the treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases by extraction of coniferous wood with an organic solvent, according to which coniferous wood, crushed to particles of not more than 5 mm and dried, is heated in distilled water to 75 °C for one hour, liquid is drained and raw material is extracted with an organic solvent for 12–14 hours at a raw material : solvent ratio of 1:(2.5–3), filtered, 5% alcohol solution of NaOH is successively added to the filtrate while the ratio of raw material : solution is 1:1 and distilled water with a raw material : water ratio of 1:2, after stratification, the aqueous-alkaline layer is drained, the extract is washed in distilled water until neutral reaction, solvent is distilled off and washed in distilled water, wherein the organic solvent used is nefras C2-80/120 or nefras C3-80/120, n-hexane, chloroform. Pharmaceutical composition with cerebroprotective, antihypoxic and antiamnestic activity for the treatment and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases, which includes an effective amount of the above active ingredient and pharmaceutically acceptable carrier additives and/or solvents and/or additives and/or lubricants. Above method enables to obtain an active ingredient with more complete extraction of prenols from coniferous wood greens with purity of 95–98%. Active ingredient has the following composition of the mixture of polyprenols, determined by HPLC at retention time: 1.583 (n=6); 1.774 (n=7); 1.928 (n=8); 2.090 (n=9); 2.219 (n=10); 2.428 (n=11); 2.506 (n=12); 2.797 (n=13); 2.887 (n=14); 2.959 (n=15); 3.104 (n=16); 3.705 (n=17); 3.941 (n=18); 4.303 (n=19); 6.412 (n=20); 6.781 (n=21); 7.381 (n=22).
EFFECT: active ingredient and a composition based thereon have cerebroprotective, antihypoxic and antiamnestic activity for treating and preventing neurodegenerative diseases.
