FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to burners of gas-discharge electrodeless lamps, and can be used in gas-discharge electrodeless lamps in a wide spectral range of radiation when excited by a microwave electromagnetic field. Burner consists of a hollow discharge bulb and a stem with a longitudinal channel, one side of which is connected to the discharge bulb, forming a cavity in which a plasma-forming composition is placed, and the other side is closed with a plug made with possibility of fixation in the mounting assembly of the gas-discharge electrodeless lamp. Inside the stem, coaxially to said channel, there is a discharge voltage sharpener, which is fixed with the help of a plug so that a discharge space in the form of a gap of width d is formed between the sharpener and the inner wall of the stem. At least one recess is made on the surface of the sharpener and/or on the inner wall of the stem.
EFFECT: increased rate of initiation of discharge and ignition of plasma, reduced wear of burner parts and increased service life, reduced acoustic noise and probability of flicker and formation of parasitic arc discharge.
