SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRACKING ANTENNA SYSTEM OF MOBILE SATELLITE EARTH STATION Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC H04B7/15 G01S3/32

Abstract RU 2821956 C1

FIELD: communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna systems of mobile satellite communication facilities and can be used to organize radio links during operation via communication satellites in geostationary and high-elliptical orbits in motion. Technical result is achieved by the fact that when tracking a satellite antenna system of a mobile satellite communication earth station, preliminary guidance of the antenna beam is carried out by an electromechanical method according to the satellite ephemerides, the current position of the user earth station, based on GNSS (global navigation satellite system) receiver information, as well as spatial orientation and motion sensors; accurate guidance and tracking in motion is due to two-coordinate electronic guidance of the receiving and transmitting beams of the phased antenna array (PAA) using digital data of a two-channel with orthogonal bases of a phase direction finder of a narrow-band radio signal of a satellite beacon; wherein the transmitting and receiving beams of the antenna, through which the useful information is transmitted, is always held on the satellite with an error of not more than 0.3° in azimuth and 1° in elevation in the angular sector azimuth × elevation angle =±3°×±40°, providing maximum power of a communication session and protection against interference with neighboring satellites.

EFFECT: simplification of electromechanical part of antenna tracking system, higher accuracy of beam guidance and retention on satellite with minimum inertia, maximum signal-to-noise ratio and maximum protection against interference with neighboring satellites while providing simultaneous electronic adjustment of the polarization vector.
