FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of gases using electromagnetic radiation and a method of analysing the composition of exhaled air by rotational spectrometry. Method includes reception and detection of radiation, conversion, and registration of signal for further processing. Analysed sample undergoes a preparation stage, which consists in either the formation of a continuous flow of exhaled air and its supply to the analytical cell, or dispensing expired air in a pulse mode into an analytical cell, or passing exhaled air through a tube filled with a sorbent, followed by desorption and supply of the desorbed component into the analytical cell. Generation of radiation is carried out by a radiation source configured to generate microwave monochromatic radiation with phase shift keying every 30 ms. Radiation is received by a radiation receiver configured to detect microwave radiation with time discreteness of 1.5 mcs. Exposure to radiation is carried out at one pre-selected resonance frequency corresponding to the analysed marker.

EFFECT: high accuracy of measurements and information content of the method.
