FIELD: aircraft engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to serial tactical and strategic aircraft, and can be used for conversion of military aircraft in order to reduce their radar signature. Shielding of aircraft elements is performed by metal thread or tape in the form of narrow foil, connected to aircraft surface. Thread and tape in the form of closed cellular mesh are located under the paint layer painting the aircraft. Diameter of the thread, the width and thickness of the tape are determined by calculation depending on the frequency interval of the radar radiation. When an electric field acts from outside on a metal grid, a self-induced field of induced charges arises from the inner side of the grid, which compensates for the electromagnetic field acting from the radar. Size of the side of the square of the cell in the grid must be less than one fourth of the length of the radio wave emitted by the locator.

EFFECT: design of a radio-absorbing coating for radar protection of an aircraft from electromagnetic waves of a radar system based on the use of electrostatic induction.
