SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and power engineering, can be used to ensure safety of consumers and working personnel in case of single-phase conductor-to-ground fault (SPGF) in 6-10 kV networks with isolated neutral and is aimed at reducing the value of current in the place of the SPGF to permissible values in terms of safety of consumers and working personnel in emergency mode until the causes of the accident are eliminated. In the known method of protection against single-phase ground faults in medium voltage networks, which includes detection of damage to a phase conductor and its elimination by shunting the damaged phase on buses of the power centre, shunting of the damaged phase is also carried out on the side of the consumer, providing its double-sided grounding. At the same time shunting of the damaged phase is performed by single-phase earthing blades.

EFFECT: potential equalization on the ground surface and reduction of step voltage near the damaged conductor due to double-sided grounding of the damaged phase.
