FIELD: biology; biotechnology; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiology, biotechnology, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutics, medical practice, namely to devices for mixing and mixing liquid and powder ingredients in vessels mounted on a platform. Orbital shaker comprises a frame rigidly fixed in two planes, a platform made from a composite material based on polypropylene, modified with a nanosized metal filler with bacterial properties, on a pendulum suspension with attachments for vessels, synchronous motor with controlled rotation frequency and weight to provide orbital motion, platform installed on bar rigidly fixed on motor shaft. Bar design allows varying the weight of the load and the distance from the centre of gravity of the load to the axis of rotation of the motor depending on the shaker load.
EFFECT: compact, lightweight, reliable and high-efficiency orbital shaker, which enables to significantly reduce power consumption, noise and vibration level with different loading of the shaker platform, as well as to exclude microbial contamination of the working surface of the platform in contact with microorganisms.
