FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to otorhinolaryngology. Surgical intervention is performed on the middle ear, involving the use of a wound surface agent at the final stage of the operation. Agent acting on the wound surface represents a composite tamponade. Following materials are laid in layers from the walls of the external auditory meatus inwards. First, silicon plates with thickness of 0.1 mm, wherein one of them covers the anterior meatotympanic angle, and other 4–6 silicone plates cover the walls of the osseous portion of the external auditory meatus. Secondly, biodegradable hydrogel "Argacol" in amount of 1.0–1.5 ml, which is applied between silicone plates and on them. Thirdly, 4-5 fragments of spongy material "Merocel Medtronic" impregnated with biodegradable hydrogel "Argakol", filling with it both front meatotympanic angle, and lumen of bone part of external auditory meatus. That is followed by tamponade of the cartilaginous portion of the external auditory meatus with ear gauze. Gauze is removed on the first postoperative day. Composite tamponade is removed on the seventh postoperative day.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase efficiency of tympanoplasty by increasing reliability of fixation of neotympanic membrane, acceleration of reparative processes on the part of displaced skin flaps, reduced length of postoperative rehabilitation.
