Method comprises steps of subdividing the format change into an ordered sequence of operations for removing components of the old format and installation of components of a new format; transmission of messages on ordered sequence of operations of removal and installation at change of format; automatic detection by electronics of the actual presence or absence of a component intended for the old or new format, before transmitting a message on the operation of removing or installing the component; automatic detection by electronics of actual absence or presence of a component intended for the old or new format, after transmitting a message on the operation of removing or installing said component; and transmitting a message on the operation following the operation of removing or installing a component only after automatic confirmation by the electronics of the actual absence or presence of that component.
EFFECT: higher reliability of maintenance of automatic machine components.
