SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for the preparation of a composition containing allopregnanolone. A method of preparing a formulation containing allopregnanolone includes providing a high shear mixing step for an aqueous formulation containing 5 mg/mL of allopregnanolone and 25% sulfobutyl ether β-cyclodextrin.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to prepare an allopregnanolone composition that can be used to treat epilepsy or status epilepticus.
