SELF-ALIGNING ELECTROMECHANICAL CLOCK Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G04C11/00

Abstract RU 2824322 C1

FIELD: clocks and other time meters.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument making, namely to electromechanical time devices with pointer indication. Electromechanical clocks comprise: microcontroller, which includes a crystal oscillator with a time counter and a computer; power amplifiers by number of dials; satellite navigation system receiver connected to the microcontroller input; power supply unit connected to power inputs of microcontroller, receiver and power amplifiers, which are connected to microcontroller outputs and electric motors (step or direct current) with reducers connected to hour and minute hands on dials, connected by reduction of 1 to 12; fixed on clock faces sensors of minute and hour hands location near diametrically opposite marks (for example, 0 and 30 minutes - readings of hands 6:00), which outputs are connected to corresponding inputs of microcontroller, wherein these sensors (or one of the two) can be located on the dials at such a radius that they are triggered both from the minute hands and from the hour hands of a traditionally smaller radius than the minute hands; as well as sensors in reduction gears of minute hands turning by one minute division (6°), also connected to the corresponding inputs of the microcontroller (in the case of using stepper motors to drive clock mechanisms with a pitch that provides rotation of minute hands by 6° in 1 step, presence of this sensor is optional). Electromechanical clock can also contain a unit for emergency power supply of the microcontroller, as well as a power supervisor and a power supply delay line, the outputs of which are connected to the inputs of the microcontroller.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at simplifying the design and increased reliability of operation of analogue electromechanical clock with one or more dials, simplification of such clocks maintenance due to self-adjustment of hands to the current time when the clock is started, self-correction of hands if necessary during the clock movement, self-recovery of readings of hands after a power failure or in case of failure, as well as on expansion of standard sizes of clocks available for equipping with proposed self-adjustment of hands and on acceleration of self-adjustment of hands.
