FIELD: chemical or physical processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of regenerating a stack of ion-exchange membranes of an electrodialyzer from degradation products of an amine absorbent by electrodialysis in alkaline washing. Method is characterized by that after alkaline washing, acid washing is carried out by their alternation in reverse electrodialysis mode with polarity change on electrodes every 10–15 minutes for 45–60 minutes of alkaline and 30–45 minutes of acid washing at constant voltage of 1–2 V per each membrane in the package in each of the washes.

EFFECT: increase in the relative degree of desalination of the electrodialyzer up to 68% compared to prototype (60) and obtaining a neutralized regenerating solution-effluent with pH equal to 7.9–8.5, compared to the prototype effluent, characterized by pH equal to 14, reduction of the number of regeneration cycles by half in comparison with the prototype.
