SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, in particular to wearable devices for determining vital signs of the owner. Device includes a processor, memory functionally connected to the processor, a first part of the housing, a second part of the housing and a connecting element. First part of the housing includes at least one light-emitting diode, and the second part of the housing includes a photodetector. Connecting element is mechanically connected to both the first part of the body and the second part of the body. Device is sized and shaped to be worn on a part of the user’s ear. During operation, at least one light-emitting diode emits light in the direction of the photodetector. Portion of the emitted light passes through a portion of the ear before reaching the photodetector. Photodetector detects a signal in response to a portion of the emitted light, and instructions are stored in memory, which cause the processor to calculate the blood oxygen saturation level of the user based on the detected signal.

EFFECT: enabling control of the oxygen level of the user of the device.
