FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an optical sensor and a wearable device containing same for non-invasive determination of concentration of blood components, for example glucose and glycated haemoglobin in blood. Optical sensor comprises an emitter configured to emit short-wave infrared (SWIR) radiation, insulator with a channel transparent to the SWIR radiation, wherein the emitter is located on top of the insulator and is configured to emit radiation into biological tissue through the transparent channel, an optical concentrator made of material with a refraction index of 1.7 or more, and a photodetector located in the upper part of the optical concentrator.
EFFECT: invention enables the non-invasive immediate or continuous monitoring of blood glucose and glycated haemoglobin.
