FIELD: funeral accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to articles of funeral accessories. Method of upholstering a coffin made of wood material consists in the fact that outer dimensions of coffin blank faces are measured, parts are cut out from material and fixed on coffin faces. Tool is used to cut out parts of the inner layer with thickness of at least 10 mm for the faces of the coffin from an elastic material having a homogeneous porous structure with density of at least 20 kg/m³. Then, jointing sides of faces of inner layer parts are cut to align them with each other and inner layer parts are fixed on coffin faces. After that, parts of external layer are applied on corresponding fixed parts of internal layer and fixed along perimeter of faces.

EFFECT: protection of coffin from wood material from moisture, increase of storage life of coffin from wood material in warehouse with reduction of labour costs during its manufacture, increase of speed of packing for transportation, prevention of coffin sliding when it is lowered using slings.
