FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optics and is used as a laboratory bench for research in fibre-optic communication lines and can be used for practical and laboratory work. Fibre-optic communication line consists of passive optical elements connected in series using optical patchcords. Optical communication line is constructed (simulated) by means of normalizing coils, optical sockets, optical distribution frame, optical attenuators connected in series to each other by optical patchcords, wherein the total length of the optical line does not exceed 3,000 metres. Measurement result is displayed on the reflectometer screen in the form of a reflectogram, on which all possible attenuations are displayed in the form of a graphic picture with determination of the distance to each of them in metres.
EFFECT: reduction of time spent on measurement of attenuation and loss of optical power.
