SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to bitumen compositions, in particular to a method of preparing a bitumen composition BC, to use of an intermediate hydrocarbon composition IC to improve the properties of resistance to aging of the HC bitumen composition and to reduce the release of H2S or the content of H2S in the HC bitumen composition and to an intermediate hydrocarbon composition IC for preparing a bitumen composition BC. Method includes the following stages: a) obtaining an intermediate hydrocarbon composition IC, comprising: a hydrocarbon component selected from oils and bitumens, having light transmission at wavelength 900 nm of at least 0.03%, and hydroxide XOH with X = Na or K of 15–50 wt.%, based on the total weight of the intermediate hydrocarbon composition IC, b) adding intermediate hydrocarbon composition IC to HC bitumen composition, wherein step b) is preceded by optical microscopy to form XOH hydroxide particles and to check their maximum size.
EFFECT: obtaining bitumen compositions with hydroxide XOH, which provides easy processing and good control of the obtained bitumen compositions, which have better aging resistance properties.
