FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to veterinary science, namely to use of guanidinoacetic acid as a non-therapeutic agent for reducing aggressiveness in pigs and/or as a non-therapeutic agent for treating caudophagy in pigs, as well as a non-therapeutic method for preventing or reducing caudophagy in pigs. Use of guanidinoacetic acid as a non-therapeutic agent for reducing aggressiveness of pigs and/or as a non-therapeutic agent for treating caudophagy in pigs. Non-therapeutic method for preventing or reducing caudophagy in pigs, characterized by that guanidinoacetic acid is administered to pigs together with pig feed in amount of 0.02 to 1 wt.% of guanidinoacetic acid of the feed weight to reduce aggressiveness.
EFFECT: said group of inventions is effective in treating and preventing caudophagy in pigs.
