FIELD: animal breeding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to feeding calves during milk feeding period. Method is characterized by the fact that from one to three months of age, a complex phytogenic fodder additive is introduced into milk or a whole milk substitute at rate of 10 ml per 1 head a day. Feed additive is an emulsion containing a mixture of essential oils of fennel and coriander in ratio of 30/70, as well as auxiliary components—lecithin as an emulsifier and physiological saline. Components in the emulsion are in ratio of 1:1:8.
EFFECT: use of the invention will allow providing higher nonspecific resistance, as well as increasing gains in sucking calves and directed formation of rumen microbiota.
