FIELD: testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of conducting tests in wind tunnels (WT) with simulation of a wind gust in the working part of WT. For the tests, air vortices are created in the gas flow, the angles of the skews of the gas flow in the vertical and horizontal planes and the speed of the gust in the working part are determined, using a vortex generator of a certain design, which is made with possibility of simulating different directions of a wind gust and which is placed in different places of the wind tunnel for subsonic, transonic and supersonic tests, respectively.
EFFECT: wider range of speeds, including in transonic and supersonic modes, at which tests with simulation of vertical, horizontal and mixed gust of wind at flight altitude of aircraft are provided.
