FIELD: glass industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to glassy foam materials of inorganic nature and can be used in national economy. Invention contains porous moisture-absorbing decorative foam glass and method of its production. Mixture for producing foamed glass includes a glass-forming component and a carbonate gasifier. In addition, the following is added to the mixture: a powdered additive which improves the hydrophilicity of the surface,—nanoparticles of titanium dioxide TiO2, or tin dioxide SnO2, or zirconium dioxide ZrO2, and a powdered additive which affects the color of the end product—metal oxides. Method of producing foamed glass involves mixing a glass-forming component, a carbonate gasifier and powdered additives, sintering the obtained mixture, foaming and firing. At that, first, mixture is heated in furnace to temperature of 600–620 °C until glass particles are softened, then mixture is sintered in temperature range from 620 to 720 °C, then, mixture is foamed for 25–40 minutes in temperature range from 720 to 871 °C, after which the foamed melt is annealed in the temperature range from 871 to 880 °C and at the end of the process, cooling is performed in the temperature range from 880 to 30 °C at the furnace outlet.
EFFECT: increased open porosity of properties and increased water saturation of foamed glass.
