FIELD: metallurgy of non-ferrous metals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals and can be used in extraction of copper and zinc from slurries of mine water neutralization from oxidised ores. Method involves sludge grinding, treatment of sludge with acid mine waters, leaching of copper and zinc, extraction of copper and zinc from the obtained solutions. Grinding and processing of sludge is carried out simultaneously with addition of mine water until the final pH value of the liquid phase of sludge is 5-7. Crushed sludge is separated from mine water, and copper and zinc leaching from sludge is carried out with a solution of citric acid with concentration of 10-50 g/l.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase rate of leaching and to increase degree of extraction of copper and zinc.
