FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of iron-ore pellets. When producing iron-ore pellets strengthened with red mud, the mixture is pelletized in a drum, the obtained pellets are dried and annealed. Mixture for pelletizing contains an iron-ore concentrate, to which is added from 5 to 8 wt.% of a mixture of red mud with water at ratio of 1:2, and pelletizing is continued until formation of aggregates of a spherical shape. Annealing of pellets is carried out at temperature from 1,100 to 1,200 °C with a gas-air mixture, which is directed through a layer of pellets from bottom to top in a direct flow, with a flow rate of not less than 0.3 to 0.4 m3/(m2⋅s) for at least 60 minutes.
EFFECT: maintaining strength characteristics of pellets at level of 220-230 kg/pellet.
