FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to production of antibacterial photocatalytic ceramics in the form of tiles, ceramic sanitary ware and tableware. Method of producing ceramics includes steps of providing at least one amorphous metal: titanium or tin, in form of a salt; providing a biomimetic material or a calcium phosphate-based biomaterial; functionalising said biomimetic material or said biomaterial based on calcium phosphate with said amorphous metal, obtaining a functionalised and oriented composite; adding said functionalised composite to the ceramic mixture and/or applying said functionalised composite to the ceramic intermediate product, wherein ceramic intermediate product denotes a ceramic material before firing; burning at temperature from 900 to 1,300 °C for time from 20 to 500 minutes, obtaining antibacterial photocatalytic ceramics. Obtained photocatalytic ceramic material includes a biomimetic material or a biomaterial based on calcium phosphate with a nanostructured hierarchical structure with macro- and micro-cavities (substrate), in which at least one photocatalytic material is enclosed, selected from titanium oxide in the form of rutile and/or tin oxide with a structure similar to rutile, wherein said oxide is arranged in an orderly manner and has the correct crystallographic arrangement relative to the substrate.
EFFECT: creation of a "biosimilar" ceramic surface formed from a material with a hierarchical structure, created according to a bone sample, with improved photocatalytic properties.
