FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering, particularly to a method and a system for storing, naming and operating metadata in high-load cloud environments. Distributed metadata management system comprises at least two data storage nodes; a module for interacting with a file system, at least one first metadata server for processing requests associated with the file system name space, at least one second metadata server for managing the actual location in at least one data storage node.
EFFECT: faster access to metadata of a distributed metadata storage system due to separation and parallelization of metadata types.
