SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio communication, in particular to small-size antennas forming a beam pattern (BP) of cardioid type. Disclosed is a method of forming cardioid beam patterns using a small-sized superdirectional HF antenna based on vertically radiating sections, one of which includes a generator or a low-noise amplifier, and the other, opposite one, is a load, wherein the vertically arranged sections are connected by a double-wire line and are spaced apart by a distance, less than a quarter of the smallest wavelength of the operating frequency range, characterized by that instead of a load matched with the wave impedance of the two-wire line, a second generator or a low-noise amplifier is connected, which in relation to the first generator or amplifier also has properties of load matched with wave impedance of two-wire line.

EFFECT: simultaneous multifrequency omnidirectional reception with a high level of suppression of the back lobes of the beam pattern and high stability of radio communication.
