FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a small-size superdirective HF antenna with a cardioid pattern, designed for use in small-size directional antenna systems, including HF phased antenna arrays. The antenna includes a progressive-wave two-wire line, where the role of radiating elements, which form the directional pattern, is performed by vertical sections, one of which includes a low-noise amplifier or generator, and the other includes a load, matched with the line, which reduces reactivity of the antenna and improves matching thereof with radio equipment. To increase the effective height and gain, the radiator of the two-wire line can be shaped as a small-size rhomboid radiator with a load, with the plane of the rhomb being arranged vertically relative to the earth and, besides vertical wires, the radiation mechanism also includes all sides of the rhomb in proportion to projections of current vectors on the vertical axis of the coordinate system.
EFFECT: high efficiency and quality of matching a cardioid antenna in a wide frequency range owing to implementation of superdirectivity and the progressive wave effect.
