FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely dentistry, and can be used to study the size and position of apical bases of jaws. Points are plotted on the CBCT sections and connected by lines to obtain parameters for assessing the base of the upper and lower jaws. At the first stage, parameters of external width of apical base of upper jaw in area of molars are determined. At the second stage, parameters of internal width of apical base of upper jaw in the area of molars are determined. At the third stage, parameters of the outer width of the apical base of the upper jaw in the area of premolars are determined. At the fourth stage, parameters of the internal width of the apical base of the upper jaw in the area of premolars are determined. At the fifth stage, parameters of the outer width of the apical base of the lower jaw in the area of molars are determined. At the sixth stage, parameters of the inner width of the apical base of the lower jaw in the area of molars are determined. At the seventh stage, parameters of the half-width of the apical base of the upper jaw in the area of the right and left molars are determined. At the eighth stage, parameters of the half-width of the apical base of the lower jaw in the area of the right molars are determined. At the ninth stage, parameters of inclination angles of the first upper jaw right molar are determined. At the tenth stage, parameters of the palatal inclination angles of the permanent right molar of the upper jaw are determined. At the eleventh stage, parameters of inclination angles of alveolar processes of the upper jaw relative to the zygomatico-orbital line are determined on the right and on the left. At the twelfth stage, parameters of the inclination angles of the alveolar crests of the lower jaw relative to the zygomatico-orbital line on the right and on the left are determined.

EFFECT: method provides developing the optimal plan of orthodontic treatment and further evaluation of its effectiveness in the patients with dentoalveolar pathology by determining the parameters of the structure of the apical base of the jaw.
