FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and is intended for use in measuring an apical basis of jaws in orthopedic, surgical dentistry and orthodontics. A computed tomography of the jaws is preliminarily performed, the tomography data are converted to the STL format, a digital model of the teeth of each jaw is created, the crowns of which are connected to the block on the oral surface, and roots are released from jaw bone tissue, followed by printing physical patterns of upper and lower jaw teeth on 3D printer, along which measuring the width of the apical basis of jaws on tops of roots of the first premolars, calculating the length of the apical basis of two halves of the jaws separately along the arc from the top of the medial incisor of the upper jaw to the distal-buccal root of the first permanent molar on the upper jaw and from the apex of the root of the medial incisor of the lower jaw to the distal root of the first permanent molar on the lower jaw.
EFFECT: method enables providing more accurate measurement of the apical base of the jaws, eliminating the stages of removing impressions from the jaws and casting cast models of jaws.
