FIELD: anthropometric diagnostics in orthodontics.
SUBSTANCE: clinical diagnostic model (CDM) of the dental arch impression of the upper and/or lower jaws is marked. The distances between the corresponding points on the molars and premolars are measured. Using the CDM, the mesio-distal dimensions of the upper right central and lateral incisors (UCIr and ULIr) and the mesio-distal dimensions of the upper left central and lateral incisors (UCIl and ULIl) are determined. After setting the dental points on the CDM, the distances between the occlusal points on the molars and premolars (Sum and Supm) and in the areas of the lower molars and premolars (Slm and Slpm) are measured. Teleroentgenograms are performed in the lateral projection. Then the angle of inclination of the upper incisor (UI) and the angle between the planes of the base of the skull and the lower jaw (SN-MP) are determined. The individual norm of inclination of the upper incisors (IndNII) and the individual norm of the width of the dentition in the areas of molars and premolars (WmIN and WpmIN) are calculated. The dentition narrowing degree (DND) is calculated and assessed. If a patient's bone deficiency is detected, a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan is performed. The width of the bone tissue of the upper molars and premolars (BTum and BTupm) and lower molars and premolars (BTlm and BTlpm) is determined. Calculation of bone tissue deficits in the areas of the upper molars and premolars (DBTum and DBTupm) and in the areas of the lower molars and premolars (DBTlm and DBTlpm) and their assessment are carried out.
EFFECT: method allows for informative and accurate diagnosis to ensure effective treatment of the patient.
