FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly to production of material based on intermetallic compound of Ti-Fe system for absorption and desorption of hydrogen. It can be used in power devices consuming hydrogen and in chemical processes. A mixture of titanium and iron powders of one fraction in ratio of 32 at.% of iron and 68 at.% of titanium is placed on the surface of the metal substrate, it is pressed by explosive loading. Thereafter, reaction sintering is carried out in a vacuum furnace while heating to 1,090 °C and vacuum of 10-6 Pa for 1 hour with subsequent cooling to temperature of 22-25 °C at rate of 210-215 °C/min by argon blowing.
EFFECT: increasing sorption properties.
