FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of intermetallic alloys based on Heusler phases, usable as materials for information storage apparatuses in the electrical engineering industry. The method for producing an intermetallic Heusler alloy of the Ti-Al-Me system includes preparing a reaction mixture of powders of the initial components, containing powders in the ratio 2Ме+Ti+Al, wherein Me is Co, Fe or Cu, pressing the charge workpiece, placing the workpiece in the reaction furnace, igniting the pressed workpiece with subsequent reaction of the components thereof in the combustion mode in an argon atmosphere at a pressure of 0.1 MPa or in a vacuum at 13.3*10-2 PA. The reaction mixtures therein can have the following composition, wt.%: Co - 61.17, Ti - 24.84, Al - 13.99, or Fe - 59.87, Ti - 25.67, Al - 14.46, or Cu - 62.9, Ti - 23.71, Al - 13.36.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing the labour intensity of the technological process for producing Heusler alloys.
