FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: unit for detecting volatile organic compounds in exhaled air contains two gas sensor cells isolated from each other, an air temperature sensor, a relative humidity sensor, two isolated from each other air channels and microcontroller. Array of semi-selective gas sensors of cells is made with different response mechanism, selected so as to give an uncorrelated response to disease markers in exhaled air. Each channel is connected to its cell. One channel provides exhaled air intake and delivery into the cell. Second channel provides extraction and supply of atmospheric air into the cell. Microcontroller provides the response of each gas sensor of the cells and comparison of the obtained responses with the test ones, corresponding to the confirmed or refuted diagnosis, as well as issuing, based on the comparison results, information on whether the person is sick with said disease or not.

EFFECT: higher validity of exhaled air analysis results by taking into account changes in the composition of the ambient atmospheric air that the people being diagnosed breathe.
