FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of peroxodisulphuric acid by electrolysis of sulphuric acid solution. When producing peroxodisulphuric acid by electrolysis of sulphuric acid solution in electrolysis unit with separation of cathode and anode spaces, electrolysis is carried out in two-, three- or four-chamber electrolysis unit, in which to separate the cathode space from the anode space, ion-exchange membranes are used and the space between the membranes in a three- or four-chamber electrolysis cell is filled with an auxiliary solution in the form of a sulphuric acid solution. Anode space of the electrolytic cell is filled with a solution of sulphuric acid and peroxodisulphuric acid is synthesized from the sulphuric acid solution. Cathode space is filled with oxidant and oxidant reduction process is carried out, wherein the oxidising agent used is a nitric acid solution of 0.1-100 wt.% or solution containing oxidising agent – ions of copper (II) and/or iron (III) in concentration from 0.001 M to concentration corresponding to 90-100% of concentration corresponding to saturated ions of copper (II) and/or iron (III) solution, and sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid to its concentration in the resulting solution of 0.1-30 wt.%.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption for electrolysis during production of peroxodisulphuric acid by electrochemical method.
