DEVICE FOR CLEANING SURFACE OF RUNWAYS OF AERODROME FROM SNOW AND ICE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC E01H5/12 

FIELD: removal of snow or ice from roads.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machines for removal of compacted snow, snow-ice formations and ice from surface of runways of airfields and motor roads, and can be used for removal of snow-ice masses from streets, sidewalks and adjoining territories. Device for cleaning the surface of runways of an aerodrome from snow and ice comprises plough with blade and ice removal elements. Elements are made in the form of sprockets separated by antifriction washers, constantly pressed by a spring with the possibility of changing the pressing force depending on the presence of ice on the surface. Proposed device comprises housing accommodating worm gear with worm wheel fitted in housing on bearings. Worm wheel is coupled by a splined connection with a rod, on which a support plate is fixed with guide rods fixed in it, which are conjugated with the housing. Bracket with freely rotating sprockets is attached to the support plate. Output end of the worm shaft is brought out from the housing and is equipped with a structural element allowing to impart a torque to the given shaft. Increased reliability of the device design and reduced labour intensity of its adjustment is due to the absence of the need for repeated partial disassembly and subsequent assembly of this device due to the adjustable output end of the worm shaft brought out from the housing.

EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the snowplough with the device installed on it is due to reduction of the downtime spent on adjusting the force of pressing the sprockets to the cleaned surface, and more accurate adjustment of the required force of action on the snow-ice masses, which reduces (up to complete elimination) of the need for repeated passage of the machine on the previously cleaned areas of the runways of the aerodrome.
