FIELD: nuclear engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for making radiation-protective articles and relates to nuclear engineering. Proposed method comprises mechanical activation of calcium sulphate phosphemihydrate, placing activated particles in mould, holding and extracting finished articles. Mechanical activation of calcium sulphate phosphemihydrate with conversion of its particles into a liquid state is carried out in a mixer with a universal rotor. Mechanical activation is carried out by using in the mixer a vertical rotor of a volumetric type, equipped in the conical zone with blades in the form of vertical blades and inclined rods, and in its upper, cylindrical, part – blades in the form of a frame and inclined rods, providing, by its height, simultaneous turbulent mixing in the volume and accelerating the mechanical activation process.
EFFECT: invention allows improving strength characteristics of articles.
