FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engines: engines with external heat supply converting heat energy of an external source into another type of energy with performance of useful work. Thermal energy conversion system comprises a closed loop with two components inside, one component is gas, and the second component is liquid. Circuit includes in-series a volumetric compression compressor equipped with a liquid cooler, at least one heater with an external heat supply and an expander. Working medium in closed circuit is gas, and liquid is used as pistons in compressor and expander. Heater is made in the form of annular tubular circuits enveloping with a gap the housing of the gas heater with an external supply of fuel gas. Annular tubular circuits are installed with gaps relative to each other; each annular tubular circuit is a section of the closed circuit and has an inlet channel and an outlet branch pipe. Axis of the inlet channel is located tangentially to the longitudinal axis of the annular channel passing inside the annular tubular contour.
EFFECT: wider range of devices related to energy conversion systems is provided due to creation of energy conversion system with external heat supply, with high efficiency of heating of gaseous working medium.
