SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to a method for recognizing parameters indicating deviation of activation of the sympathetic nervous system and deviation of activation of the parasympathetic nervous system during the transition of the subject from a basal state to a disturbed state, as well as to a device for implementing said method. Discrete pressure signal of the subject containing cardiac contractions is received. Each heartbeat is separated in a discrete signal and a systolic and a diastolic phase within each heartbeat. Duration diagrams of systolic and diastolic phases are plotted. Diagrams are re-sampled. Calculating power spectra of repeatedly sampled diagrams at frequencies between lower limit and upper limit. Power of said spectra is calculated. Calculating and outputting the calculated power ratios. Listed steps are first performed for a subject in a basal state, and then in a disturbed state.

EFFECT: enabling assessment of activation of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems with detection of the effect of transition of a subject from a basal state to a disturbed state on the basis of interaction between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
