FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used to detect and combat ferroresonance in AC networks of 6-35 kV, operating with isolated and compensated neutral. Result is achieved by the method of detecting and suppressing ferroresonance processes in networks of medium voltage classes, which consists in detecting the ferroresonance mode and generating a signal for controlling the value of the adjustable protective resistor, according to the invention, the ferroresonance mode is identified by the instantaneous values of currents and voltages in the phases and in the zero-sequence circuit, obtaining network phase characteristics for phases and zero-sequence circuit, determining the value of the optimal value of the resistance of the adjustable protective resistor, generating a signal for connection and control in proportion to the degree of distortion of phase trajectories, wherein an adjustable protective resistor is used, which is made with possibility of deepening of electrodes into the ground.
EFFECT: faster and more accurate identification of ferroresonant processes as initial information for controlling an adjustable protective resistor introduced into a zero-sequence circuit for reliable elimination of resonance.
