SUBSTANCE: invention relates to self-contained ice-class buoys which can be used for remote monitoring of the location of objects on which they are installed, or monitoring their own drift in water, which provides determination of their own location and transmission of geographic coordinates through a satellite communication system. Floating self-contained data recorder has a sealed housing formed by a base, flat at the bottom and with a cylindrical side surface, and a spherical cover. In the base near the bottom and along the perimeter there are power elements connected through the controller to the communication module connected in turn to the antenna placed in the cavity of the spherical cover. Controller with communication module are installed in the central part of the base on the lodgement.
EFFECT: higher reliability, decreased overall dimensions of the device.
