FIELD: hydrology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for operational contact systematic autonomous observations of the upper, including subglacial, layer of the ocean. Drifter comprises housing of positive buoyancy with elements of self-contained power supply system. Housing is made of a given material and is electrically and mechanically connected to a measuring line, which contains one or more identical measuring modules, each of which is located at a given horizon and contains a high-precision time-of-flight sound velocity meter, a medium temperature meter, hydrostatic pressure meter and interface configured with the buoy controller module interface.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of real-time long-term autonomous systematic monitoring of hydrological parameters of the water environment and their spatial distribution.
