SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Device for determining the presence of an obstacle in the alignment of sliding doors comprises strain gage connected with pneumatic cylinder and through a hinged joint rigidly attached to the base, which is a part of a vehicle. Output of the strain gauge is connected to the input of the control system, the output of which is connected to the unit of pneumatic control valves connected to the door drive mechanism.

EFFECT: simplified design, higher reliability, possibility of operation in the whole range of working stroke of doors both at closing and at opening of doors, as well as in provision of direct linear dependence of force of obstacle clamping on measured force on pneumatic cylinder.
