SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of a composition containing the GLP-1 peptide in a therapeutically effective amount for treating obesity or overweight or for reducing body weight in a subject in need thereof. GLP-1 peptide is GLP-1 (7-36), and the therapeutically effective amount of the GLP-1 peptide ranges from 0.11 mg/day to 0.66 mg/day, wherein the composition is used in two or three injections a day.
EFFECT: at a considerably lower dose, the use of the GLP-1 composition provides effective treatment of obesity or overweight and body weight reduction in a subject in need thereof.
