SUBSTANCE: invention relates to military equipment and can be used in unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft and drone type. Identification object is considered to be onboard aeronautical lights of both visible and invisible spectrum. System for determining the identity of unmanned aerial vehicles includes a ground emitter operating in the invisible region of the spectrum - infrared or ultraviolet, and a receiver of this radiation and a decoder placed on the unmanned aerial vehicle. If the encrypted password transmitted by the ground emitter corresponds to the set one, the aeronautical lights control system changes the aeronautical lights burning mode so that the ground operator detects this, namely: alternate flashes with a given frequency.

EFFECT: unmanned aerial vehicle is identified by ground units in friend-or-foe mode.
